paperback, hardback or trade paperback?
All of the above
amazon or brick and mortar?
I live for going into bookstores. I love browsing around and spending more money than I should because I just have to have that book. That said, lately I do most of my shopping on Amazon. And I feel bad whenever I do it.
barnes & noble or borders?
Neither if I can help it. I prefer used bookstores. If they'd let me, I'd move into Powell's Books. But if I had to pick, I guess I'd pick Borders. But only because there's one at my mall.
bookmark or dog-ear?
It depends on how old the book is. Usually with new books I bookmark. But at a certain point I start to dog-ear. I think it makes them feel loved. You can tell which books are my favorites because you can't read the spine anymore and all the pages are dog-eared.
favourite place to read?
Anywhere there's light.
alphabetise by author or alphabetise by title or random?
They're all grouped by author, but not really in any order.
keep, throw away, or sell?
KEEP FOREVER! OMG, BOOKS ARE LIKE CHILDREN. WOULD YOU JUST THROW AWAY YOUR CHILD? Unless I need money. Then I sell them. Lesson? It's okay to sell your kids if you need cash.
keep dust jacket or toss it?
Keep. Why would you throw away the dust jacket?
read with dust jacket or remove it?
It's a built in bookmark, dudes. Unless the book is super long (Harry Potter, I'm looking at you), then I remove it.
short story or novel?
Novels.
harry potter or lemony snicket?
I haven't read the Leomny Snicket books yet. We just got the first ten, but I've had other thing I've been reading.
stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
Chapter breaks.
"it was a dark and stormy night" or "once upon a time"?
"Once upon a time it was a dark and stormy night"
buy or borrow?
Lately, buy. And I feel bad about it, okay. I love my library card, and it's not like it's even hard to get library books. I can get them off the internet, and there's no late fees, but for some reason I just keep buying them.
new or used?
Doesn't matter to me. If I can't wait to get a book then I'll get it new, but you can find the most awesome books in used bookstores.
buying choice: book reviews, recommendations, or browse?
Browsing mostly. Or recommendations if I trust that person's taste.
tidy ending or cliffhanger?
Depends on the book.
morning reading, afternoon reading, or nighttime reading?
All reading.
stand-alone or series?
I hate it when book series go on forever and you can never get to the end. But I like books that all take place in the same universe that you don't necessarily have to read in order.
favourite series?
An actual series, probably The Dark Tower by Stephen King. For universe, Discworld.
favourite children's book?
Fox in Socks. Is that not what the question meant? I loved all the Ramona (which I can't type without typing Romana first) books when I was young. Actually, anything written by Beverly Cleary was awesome.
favourite ya book?
Just As Long As We're Together by Judy Blume. I read it approximately nine million times. I haven't read it in a really long time, so for all I know it could be total crap, but at one point in time it like was totally my life. Judy Blume just knows, man. She felt my pain.
favourite book of which nobody else has heard?
The Upstairs Room by Johanna Reiss
favourite books read last year?
Wicked by Gregory Maguire, Good Omens, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
favourite books of all time?
Good Omens, The Shining, The Goblet of Fire, Dragonsinger
least favorite book you finished last year?
I have no clue. I can't really remember reading a book I really didn't like
what are you reading right now?
The Catcher in the Rye, Naked Pictures of Famous People, Reliquary, The Big Show
what are you reading next?
Turning Angel, Lisey's Story
favourite book to recommend to an eleven-year-old?
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
favourite book to reread?
Good Omens. I've read it a million and five times.
do you ever smell books?
OMG, yes. I love book smell
do you ever read primary source documents?
Yeah. I was a history major for a while.
Was anyone else annoyed by the lack of caps in the questions? I was, but I was also to lazy to change it, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

What are the five coolest gadgets, in any fandom?
1. Shoe phone (Get smart) - When I was a kid I loved Get Smart. I thought the shoe phone was the coolest thing ever.
2. Sonic Screwdriver (Doctor Who) - "Have you never been bored? Never had a long night? Never had a lot of cabinets to put up?"
3. Magic Wand (Harry Potter) - Few things are cooler than an actual magic wand.
4. Puddlejumper (SGA) - They might be like Winnebagos in space, they might not even actually count as a gadget, but they are pretty damn cool.
5. Holodeck (Star Trek) - Again, I don't know if it counts as a gadget, but the holodeck is one of the coolest things EVER.
PS: Is it just me or does Chris Matthews have the worst laugh ever? It's horrifying
ETA: HEE! Not two seconds after I posted this, Keith did a whole montage of the laugh. We are obviously soulmates.
