I don't see it yet. While I'm impressed with Martha whenever she calls the Doctor on his bs, they haven't really done much else with her that makes me dig her character. It's not Freema's fault -- I suspect the writers are still stuck in Rose mode.
Here's to hoping that next week will give us more Martha in the kickass mold.
I think the writers are torn between trying to appease the Rose fans and trying to build Martha up, and it's definately caused some problems.
I thought the Doctor trusting her to figure out what to do with the psychic paper and then leaving her on her own to fight was brilliant, and shows that he trusts her more than he lets on.
My opinion is that the Doctor likes Martha and thinks she's brilliant, but then remembers Rose and backs off because he doesn't want to get burned again. But it's sending mixed signals to Martha which is kind of a bastard thing to do.
The sooner they stop having him act like a bastard, the better the season will be.
