Smallville!
Question: Now that we know that Smallville's coming back next season, when will we find out which cast members will be returning? — Kirsten
Ausiello: You'll find out right this second (Warning: This spoiler will dramatically and suddenly accelerate, climb, stop and dive. It is not recommended for Smallville fans who are expectant mothers or those with a history of neck or back conditions or heart trouble) OK, here we go: Nearly everyone is expected to return for Season 8 except — wait for it, wait for it — Michael Rosenbaum and Kristen Kreuk. I'll give you a second to catch your breath. [Beat] Sources close to the show tell me that both actors have informed producers that they don't intend to return as series regulars next season. However, they are open to doing limited engagements, and those details are being worked out as we speak. Thanks for riding! Actually, you may wanna stay strapped in for this next one...
Question: I was wondering if you could let loose some juicy Smallville gossip about some future episodes. — David
Ausiello: Find a calendar and draw a circle around April 17. That's the day the show's first post-strike episode airs. It's also the day a long-running character — a series regular — takes his/her last breath. As in dies. For real. No cloning crap this time around. Got guesses? Post 'em in the Ask Ausiello Discussion Thread!
I'd knew that Michale, Kristen, and Allison's contracts were up at the end of the season and that Michael didn't want to come back, but I didn't know what Kristen and Allison wanted to do. I hope this means Chloe is coming back next season, and not that they are killing her off on the April 17th episode. And that since Lana is gone we won't have to deal with Clana anymore. Maybe the gods will smile upon me and we'll get some hot Chloe/Clark action. They'll probably start building up the Clark/Lois though.
Who does everyone think the death is going to be? I say it's either Lionel or Chloe, but that's who I always say when they say someone is going to die. Maybe it's Martha. She's a long-running character. She's not a regular anymore though, so I don't know if that would count. Plus, if Martha dies, who is going to make his costume? Or are they going to have Chloe "die" by using her powers again?

But that's just because I want Lana to die.

I've often had 'maybe they'll kill off Lana' thoughts, but I don't think they'll actually do it. Especially if Kristen is willing to come back as a guest star next season.w But then again, stranger things have happened.
