Look, the reason Top Gear is so awesome is because of the hosts. I don't watch the show because I like cars. I watch it because Richard Hammond is adorable and James May is bizarrely sexy and Jeremy Clarkson is a twit, but he's amusing so it's okay. So why don't you just give us the British version. Which is good and awesome, not some horrible US version which is going to end up being American Coupling With Cars.

...but but Hamster! And James and Jeremy! There's no point in watching the show without them doing crazy things like driving through Africa and trying to destroy cars and totally sexing eachother. That's just wrong.
