bubbles83I spent a lot of time debating whether or not I was going to put one of these up as I always feel silly asking people for things, but I thought it might be fun. So here it is.
Step One
--Make a post (public, friends locked,filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a newcar/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
--If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
--Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
--Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
--If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.
--You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holidayelf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not—it's your call.
--There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. Paid time/userpics. It's always nice to have something extra.
2. Icons. I love icons. I think you guys know most of my fandoms by now. If someone made me an Ollie icon, I'd love them. Same for that weasel in a a brown coat idea I had a while back.
3. Fic, OMG, cracktastic AUs are the greatest things ever. I really want someone to write Sam Carter as Zenon with Cam as some crazy flyboy. If someone wrote that I would probably die I'd be so happy. Also, anything where John Sheppard is a barista and Rodney is a cranky professor who's addicted to John's lattes is great. Or Vala and Sam as Lesbian Space Pirates. Also, my love for crossovers knows no bounds.
4. A new header/layout. I kind of suck at layouts. I really like mine, but I've had it for a while now and a new one would be good. I doen't need to be Stargate realated. I have tons of fandoms. I'd love a Chloe one. It doesn't even need to be fandom realated. If you make something pretty, I'm sure I'd love it. I pretty easy.
5. A scarf. I love scarves. Especially long ones.
6. New music. I get bored with the music I listen to all the time. Send me something you think I'd like, that I probably don't have. If you don't know, guess. I have pretty wide tastes when it comes to music.
7. Postcards. I love getting postcards and it would be cool to get some from the places eveyone lives.
8. Anything fandom related. To any of my fandoms. I've been really Doctor Who/Torchwood obsessed lately so anything from that would be beyond great.
9. Do something nice for someone you know. On LJ or not. Give them flowers or a hug, do something to make someone else smile.
