OH THANK GOD! The Mariners won. After losing NINE games in a row they really need this.

I like watching baseball on television, and I love going out to my backyard on a nice day and listening to a game on the radio, but nothing beats actually going to the game. There's something magical about it. The smell, the crowd, the energy. It's fantastic.

The drive up was worrisome because of the clouds and rain, but it was pretty nice when we got up to Seattle. Cloudy, but reasonably warm. My dad didn't harass me about my life, other than asking me when I'm going to get my friggin drivers license. But that's to be expected. I should move to New York or someplace where it's not such a big deal that I don't have it.

The game itself was fun. The Mariners beat the A's 14 to 10. We had great seats. Pretty much right behind the plate and eleven rows back. I was basically sitting on the field. At one point my dad could have caught a foul ball, but he let one of the kids sitting right in front of us get it. They were pretty cute in their little baseball hats and their mitts. It's the Mariners 30th anniversary and today was Turn Back the Clock day, so both the teams were in 70's style uniforms and they played a bunch of 70's music. Lots of ABBA. And they played Boogie Shoes, which always makes me think of Sports Night.

The drive back was nice. We made it back in a little over 2 hours. Now we're having meatloaf for dinner. It really doesn't get any better than that.

I emailed my timesheet to bookkeeping today, except I forgot to attach the timesheet. I'm awesome, y'all.

My dad bought us baseball tickets! We're going to go to the Mariners on the 29th. I'm very excited. My dad and baseball are awesome.

It's FRIDAY! YAY! Make sure you watch SGA tonight. It is beyond excellent. I'll give you all a little hint to the greatness. The episode involves John and Rodney and lots of candles.

I don't own The Sandlot!

[livejournal.com profile] rain_dances and I were talking about loving sports movies and TV shows and how baseball is the best sport of all time, and she asked me what my favorite baseball movie was. The answer is The Sandlot, followed closely by ALL THE REST OF THEM (OMG BASEBALL IS SO AWESOME). So I really wanted to watch it, but I don't own it! I thought I did! How do I not own it? *goes to rectify this situation*

Things that make me happy:

1. This quote from Justin Long (AKA Mac) in my Jane Magazine: "John Hodgeman [the PC guy] is so charming, I want to cradle him and give him gentle kisses."

2. Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies. The ones that are the rings with the chocolate stripes. Mmm. So good.

3. Playing baseball in my backyard with my little sisters

Things that make me not happy:

1. Cramps

2. No Keith again. Look, I get that Stephen gave you mono or something, but I'm going through withdrawls. I'd like you to be better now. Love, ME

3. Joe Mallozzi is a giant ass.

Dude, I did that meme AGAIN )

One of my favorite things about Spring is that you can almost always find a baseball game on.
