bubbles83: (Politics - Does anyone smell fish?)
Lol, I've spent most of my afternoon and evening on [livejournal.com profile] rahmbamarama. Best. Community. EVER. Or at least best named community. I love that Rahm Emmanuel actually has a fandom. He's going to find out about it and it's going to be like that episode of The West Wing where Josh find his fangirls, but with ass kicking and dead fish.

And now a life lesson from [livejournal.com profile] bubbles83's mom: "You should be nice to everyone, because you never know if someone is Jesus or a secret millionaire."

Rahm Emanuel doesn't care if you're Millionaire Jesus, he will cut you if you piss him off.

[Poll #1279512]

Washington absentee ballots start getting mailed tomorrow! WOO!

bubbles83: (OMG! RAGE!)

"Joe The Fucking Plumber" is probably a porn title. Y/N?

*does the Snoopy dance*

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Manderpants! And Hodgeman. And Jason Jones.

ETA: My sister just called Rachel Maddow annoying. I don't know if I can talk to her ever again.

*Everyone and their Uncle Bob has post this, but just in case you haven't seen them, these Doctor Who posters are AMAZING.

*The answer is Chuck Todd. The question is irrelevant.

*Do we have a start date for S5 of SGA? I'm going through withdrawls.

*My favorite meme!

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

questions from thebloodyxxx )

*If I remember to do it I'll try to post my kitty pictures tomorrow.

“We the people, in order to form a more perfect union.”

Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched America’s improbable experiment in democracy. Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787.

The document they produced was eventually signed but ultimately unfinished... )
bubbles83: (DW - Martha with arrows)
Hi. Would someone write me Jack/Martha porn using this picture as a prompt? (The pic isn't spoilery at all. It's from a photo shoot with Freema on the Torchwood set.) It would be very pleasing, and I've got a bit of a cold, so you'd help me feel A LOT better. PLEEEEEEASE

This video has nothing to do with Martha, Jack, or porn, but it did make me giggle.

bubbles83: (Politics - Obama)
I caucused! WOOO! It was my first time, so I was a little nervous. I had no idea what went on at a caucus. Did you have to drink the blood of puppies? Sign your soul to the Democrats forever?* Declare your alliegence to dead gay headmasters? I didn't know. Well, they didn't make me do any of that. This is what I did have to do.

Here's Christina's experience at the Washington Caucus )

I liked getting to meet all the people there (THERE WERE A LOT! GO DEMOCRACY! WOO!) and hearing what they had to say. I happily wore my Obama sticker to the grocery store later, and stuck my sign in the car window for the ride home.

This sounds dorky(not that I've ever cared about being dorky[what's with all the parentheses in this entry?]), but it made my day brighter to know that I was part of the process. That I did my civic duty.

But, hey, it's probably not as dorky as my Yay-I-Got-My-Ballot dance, when my ballot came in the mail in 2004. And WAY less dorky than my I-Just-Voted-WOO-WOO dance that I did after I voted for Kerry.

ETA: HA HA. Guys, I typed this entry up in Semagic HOURS ago and thought I posted it, but apparently not. Anyway, here it is now. And in case anyone was curious and didn't already know, Obama won in Washington, Louisiana, and Nebraska today!

*I proabably would have been okay with that.

I'm pretty excited about [Guest Star] on Smallville tonight.

I was thinking of starting YouTube Thursday. To go with Upload Wednesday and the Friday Poll. What do you guys think? I could use it to post fun things I find on YouTube. Music videos, show clips, cats doing silly things, that sort of stuff.

We'll get things started this week, and if you don't like it, let me know. Maybe I'll do my Friday Poll on it. Anyway, for week one, I give you MURPHY BROWN!

Also, in case you didn't already know, it's now time for us to say bye bye to Mittens Quittens (Oh, Rachel. ILU.)
bubbles83: (Politics - Obama)
[livejournal.com profile] geekgirlofdoom, I found Obama's speech from yesterday on YouTube.

At 34 minutes, it is a little long, but it doesn't feel like it. And it's totally worth your time.
bubbles83: (Politics - Obama)
GASP! John Kerry, you utter slag! I can't believe you'd cheat on Edwards like that.

This has nothing to do with that, but is both the sweetest and creepiest thing I've read in a while.

And this is what is says about the January 18th episode... (SPOILERS) )

Whatever, there's only an hour until MSNBC starts their Primary coverage, so I need to see if I can take over the TV for the rest of the day. *shakes fist* Damn you Comcast. You've made it VERY DIFFICULT for me to enjoy my program.

US says it has right to kidnap British citizens.

WHAT? OMG. There are times when I'm embarrassed to say I'm from America. I can't wait for next November. But if some moronic cockwaffle gets elected and I have to move to Canada, will someone hold a couch for me?
bubbles83: (Politics - Obama)
CNN Debates = Awesome. There were some very good questions, and some clearly insane people, but I enjoyed the whole thing. Plus, there was Andersnark. FABULOUS!

In super squeeful news, I got my tickets to the Las Vegas Star Trek convention today! I'm getting very excited about it. 17 days! *bounces* My mom and I are doing a Star Trek bingo thing that I think will be fun, and my mom is getting photos and autographs with Casey Biggs and Connor Trinnear (OMG TRIP!!!!). I'm getting my photo with Avery Brooks (BESTEST CAPTAIN EVER) and autograph from Wil Wheaton. It's gonna be the highlight of my summer.

I don't think anyone on my flist is going, but if you are, OMG LET ME KNOW!

My mom decided she had to get the roof on the gazebo up now so I missed the last 20 minutes of the debate.

*Waves* Hi to all the new people on my flist. Welcome to the crazy. If you have anything you want to know about me, just ask. I don't bite. But if I do, fear not. I am all caught up with my shots.

You know what I like? Mega Vote. You put in your zip code and email address and you get an email telling you how your congress people are voting and what the upcoming votes are. I think it's pretty nifty.

I posted 41 icons today over at [livejournal.com profile] bubbles_squared. Stock, SG1, SGA, and SPN. The SGA icons include a couple from First Strike. Beware. :)
