That was the most stressful Halloween I've ever had. At 11 I went to Silverstar to rent a video for my movie night tonight only to find out that they didn't open until 1. That started the Lets See How Pissed Off Christina Can Get motif of the day. So I came back here to start setting up for the haunted activity center in the basement. We (Annie, Drew, Krystal, Eric Mann and I) were getting all the lights covered and most of the plastic for the maze cut. Then I left to go to the library to get the books for our scary stories room. I got to the library only to find that the book I ,REALLY wanted wasn't there even though the computer said it was. So I had to get some other books which weren't the ones I wanted. I got back and found out that the fire marshal had come through and told us that we couldn't use the plastic for our maze because it's a fire hazard and there are no sprinklers in the basement and we have an arsonist over here. This is where I really went ape shit and started freaking out. We had to figure out a whole new plan for our basement and we had about 4 hours to do it. The whole point was that the kids would go through the maze and then look at the scary scenes, then go do the activities. We had to rethink ALL of that because we didn't have the maze to guide kids through and make it dark and creepy. I was about ready to burst into tears. So we rethought the WHOLE thing and started to bust ass to try and get this thing done. Finally we finished setting up at around 5:15 and I left to put on my costume. I got back and found out that, guess what, Common Grounds has black plastic up all over (it's still up by the way, sure hope the arsonist doesn't decide to torch it). I was PISSED. No pissed isn't even the right word... I don't really think they have a word for what I was feeling. We couldn't use plastic to make the basement scary, but fucking common grounds could put it up all over the walls and have hay and dry shit everywhere? Boy I sure am glad that dry hay and corn stalks aren't going to burn easily. All in all I thought it went pretty well. I made two little kids cry so YAY for me. I heard that there was a member of another staff who wasn't quite so positive about it, but I want to see what they would have done if they had been us? Honesty, after all the shit we had to deal with the last thing I wanted to hear was that another RA was bitching that it wasn't scary enough. To us! If you are going to bitch then bitch to people on your own staff, not the people who worked their asses off on it. That is just rude and inconsiderate. You try rethinking half of the entire Hamilton basement without being able to use stuff to cover the walls or close in the open area's we have. Jesus.

On another note, I had a pretty good day today. I watched movies in the basement with a bunch of people on my staff. I like my staff a lot. They are a group of really cool people. And rounds aren't that bad cuz Nick is awesome and rounds with him are tons of fun. :)

Harry Potter rocks my socks! and Oliver Wood is the greatest. Sean Biggerstaff does a great job playing him. And his last name is Biggerstaff which is neat!
