I'm quite familiar with Star Trek. And while I'm prone to hyperbole, I do maintain that she's a better actress than most of the peripheral actors of any modern Star Trek. Deanna Troi? Wesley Crusher? Tasha Yar? Beverly Crusher? Geordi LaForge? Major Kira? Jadzia Dax, even (prophets forgive me). All of Enterprise?
My point is that in sci-fi, you learn to accept sub-par acting. And she's no Patrick Stewart. But she's never as bad as she could be. (Ali Larter, Milo Ventimiglia, I'm looking in your direction...)
