It's because their love is deep and true and Rodney would feel it in his soul ass soul if John was dead. Also, I vaugely remember something about a John's only companion being a Rodney hologram. So there's like love there or something.

I just don't understand why they would give us that incredibly adorable beginning to a lovely relationship between Ronon and Keller, and then make her flaky and indecisive and completely randomly switch to Rodney. It just... does not sit right with me. I mean, if Rodney has to have a girlfriend (which, why does he? What about John? Oh right, he's flaming!), I far prefer Keller to Katie, but. Blegh.
