OK I think I'm ready

So I still have a lot of thoughts on this, but I'm going to try to make some sense. I'm thinking doing this in list form might help

1. Elizabeth is the cutest thing ever. She was all cute and datey. She looked great in that green shirt. And she smelled nice. Carson said so. She should date more often. But with Radek and not Random Dude Never To Be Seen Again.

2. Lorne paints! How cute was that? I love it. Between this and the basket thing in The Game, I just don't know how I could love him any more. But I'm sure I can.

3. Radek is the chess king of Atlantis. He should play John. That would be hot.

4.Teyla has a crush on someone! I know they were trying to make us think it's John, but I really don't think it is. She and John are like brother and sister. Where she's the older sister who tolerates and is amused by her little brother, and is sometimes annoyed by him. Also, she likes to put him in pretty dresses and paint his nails. My secret hope is that it is Lorne. That would rock my socks. Or if I'm feeling really emo, Carson. That said, if it is John, I don't think I'd be too bothered by it. I can take a little John/Teyla.

5. Ronon is hot like burning when he plays golf. For serious. And that beer induced convo with John? OMG, I died. John asked him if he dated guys! In a round about guy way. For one of two reasons. Either he was trying to see if he had a chance, or he was seeing how Ronon would react when he finds out that John and Rodney are fucking like bunnies. But Ronon isn't ready to date. I just want to give him hugs and make him brownies.

6. ZOMG John was married. Which I can see. And it didn't work out because John has many many issues. One of which being that he is GAY. But he got married because he thought it would bring him closer to having this 'perfect' life and he really did love her. He just wasn't in love with her. She was like his BFF and thought he could make it work, but he really really couldn't. John is also the guy that you break up with and probably never see again, but you know that if you did you could still be friends.

7. Rodney. Poor emo Rodney. When he was talking about marriage, well I was embarrassed, but then I was totally smitten with a Rodney who wants to get married some day. Just not to Katie Brown. Who still doesn't really seem like Rodney's type, but whatever. And I was so sad that he blew Carson off, because Carson looked so crushed, but resigned. Like this is something Rodney does all the time, but Carson still always asks. And now Rodney will always remember that the last thing he did before Carson died was blow him off.

8. I really liked that ending scene with Rodney and Carson. At first the best friend stuff kind of rang false, what with all the John stuff this season, but really it makes sense. First of all he could have just been looking at their relationship with rose colored glasses, but really I do think they were very good friends. They've been together ever since Rising, with the chair and hanging out together at the end of that episode during the party. In fact, for me the first season was really about how Carson had a crush on Rodney and if John hadn't been around then it would have been all about the McKay/Beckett.

9. Poor Carson, with the death by exploding tumor. Not a very dignified way to go. But one I saw coming, as I have watched Grey's Anatomy. Poor Pink Mist Carson. I feel bad for him, and for Paul. Who suffered from the fact that they didn't know what to do with his character. The same thing happened when they moved Lorne up to the cast of regulars on Angel. He had been used great until then, but once they put him in the credits they had a hard time finding ways to work him into the story. I don't think they needed to kill him though. Just bump him down so they weren't trying to put him places he didn't go. They never tried to force Janet into places she didn't belong and things worked out fine for her. Till she died. But that was totally different than what they did to Carson.

So, like Teyla, I feel a deep sadness. And we'll see how the rest of the season turns out, knowing some of the new casting spoiler for next year. Joe seems to think it will be awesome.










Welder!John was totally the hottest thing ever, right? That wasn't just me?


Huh. That was a lot less shallow than I usually am with SGA things. I finished watching The Quest II so maybe I'll talk about that later.
