Okay. Here it is. The moment you've all been waiting for. My Vegas write up! This is gonna be long, so let's get to it!

Thursday! With Geordi, Wil, and BINGO:
Our flight there was uneventful. No one thought we were terrorists, we never got searched, hell we didn't even have any turbulence really.

We got in, and went to our hotel. We stayed at the Flamingo again this year. The rooms are nice and we know our way around (well, I do anyway. My mom has a HORRIBLE sense of direction). We unpacked our bags and headed to the Hilton.

Can I just stop here for a moment and talk about how wonderful the monorail is? It's lovely. Easy to use, quicker than walking or taking the bus. I really like not having to fight the crowds on the strip. Plus it cuts down on the walking you have to do. Which my feet appreciate. If you ever go to Vegas, I HIGHLY recommend using the monorail to get around on the strip.

So, we got to the Hilton and got all signed in with our pretty neon green bracelets and lanyards, and heading into the vendor room to look around for a bit. We admired all the people in costumes. I wonder if they were all staying at the Hilton or if they wandered around on the street in their costumes. That would be pretty awesome.

We headed in to the big room and LeVar Burton(Geordi LaForge) was on. He talked about Reading Rainbow and Roots. One guy went up to ask a question and he was wearing a bright orange shirt. LeVar made fun of him, and it was fairly amusing. I don't really remember much about it, to tell you the truth, but I remember thinking that LeVar was funny and seemed like a pretty cool guy. They had a music video of the Star Trek doctors after that. If I am to believe the video, the only doctors in Trek are Bones, Crusher, and Bashir. I like them, but where's the love for the Doctor(non-Timelord version) and Phlox?

After LeVar we went to see Richard Arnold's top moments in Trek history(TOS and TNG). Including, Tribbles, Sarek/Amanda, Sarek's death, umm...other stuff. Those were the important bits to me. Tribbles and Vulcans.

Then BINGO! That's right. Bingo. Bingo with food and booze. The best way to play bingo, really. They had yummy little sandwiches and fruit and cookies. And champagne. I never won, but I did come close a couple of times. Stupid people not calling the right numbers. Scarlett Pomers(Naomi Wildman) called for one game, and she was wee and adorable. I like both Voyager and Reba, so it was neat to see her. Malachi Throne called another game. He has the bestest most awesome voice ever. Even if he didn't seem to understand bingo and kept calling out 'D' whenever he got a 'G'. They had some pretty cool prizes. Lots of signed stuff (I really wanted to win the game with the signed LOTR picture), collector plates, banners, that sort of thing.

After bingo, we headed over to the small room to see WIL WHEATON (all caps for [livejournal.com profile] pie_is_good). We missed the beginning because of bingo and the place was packed. My mom was pretty surprised. She didn't think that many people would want to see "The Boy". He was doing a reading of his review of Justice. HILARIOUS. I'm a fan of Wil's reviews(which you can find here), but they are even funnier when he reads them out loud. He took some questions, and Man In The Orange Shirt asked one and everyone groaned. Then Wil made fun of him and we all laughed at the jackass in the orange shirt some more. (okay, I did feel a little bad for the guy. He said he wore the orange shirt so his wife could find him in the crowd, so you know, I could judge him too harshly for that, but he did ask kind of jackassy questions. I wish I could remember them). Then we went up for autographs. I got him to sign his new book for me. (HAHA SARAH!) He also had a small book of a few of his TV Squad reviews. I didn't have money with me at the time to get that one though.

After the excitement of meeting Wil Wheaton we decided to head to the Bellagio to see the chocolate fountain. It was pretty neat, I guess. It was a fountain of chocolate. There's not much you can say about it. They did have a random eagle statue there that made me think of Stephen Colbert. We also went to the Mirage so we could see the aquarium in the lobby, but it's closed until October for remodeling or something.

Friday! With Anderbear, Pamela Anderson, and drunken Dominic:

Friday we got there around 11 and went to Quarks for lunch. I had the Talaxian Turkey Wrap and it was very good. There were actually other people there. Usually when my mom and I go, Quarks only has one or two other people there. It was super busy this time. YAY for other Star Trek peeps!

Then we went to see Ronald Moore give a talk about the visual effects. It was pretty interesting and we saw the mylar pompom that was apparently used in 90% of the effects on the show. After that we went to the vendor's room to go to Wil's table so I could pick up his review book. He signed it 'Stay awesome' and I got my picture taken with him. (HA Sarah. Wil thinks I'm awesome!)

My mom and I got in line to have our picture taken with Connor Trinneer(Trip, bitches!). You know how some people are attractive on TV, but then you see them in person and they aren't? That's not Connor. Hoo boy, is he hot.

We went back to the big room and DC Fontana was talking about her Star Trek stuff. Then there was a Trip/T'Pol music video and I almost puked.

(This part has a couple of Atlantis spoilers in them. But I think they are things most people are aware of) Dominic Keating(Reed) and Connor Trinneer came on. Dominic was very drunk and hilarious. He was running all over the stage and being a giant dork. I wish Connor had talked more, but at least Dominic was funny. Someone asked what else they were working on and Connor said he's doing another two episodes of SGA. One woman came up who Connor recognized from a Trek Cruise in Alaska. Apparently it was the 'Inner Passage' which Dominic thought it was hilarious and asked Connor to stop calling it that. I don't remember what her question was, but a woman after her wanted to know if Michael was the person who got Teyla pregnant, and Dominic thought she meant on the cruise and was confused. Connor said he wasn't sure if Michael was, but he thought it would be interesting. Someone asked why Reed didn't get more romantic storylines and he said it was because he always thought Reed was gay. Which, I mean, obviously. ;) Oh, Dominic did his Trip impression, which involved him putting his hands on his hips and saying "Cap'n" a lot.

Terry Farrell(Jadzia Dax) came on after them. She's a mom and a housewife now, and likes it. After Terry, we got in line for Connor's autograph. He was still very attractive and I still would like to have a million of his babies.

Then we had to rush over to the new Planet Hollywood Casino so we could go the the Hans Klok magic show. That's the one with Pamela Anderson as his assistant. It was fun and I have no idea how he did any of it. Pamela was funny and has giant knockers. Hans Klok has the most fabulous hair ever. It's all feathered and there's a wind machine the makes it blow around like he's freaking Farrah Fawcett or something. It was AWESOME. At one point they pulled someone up from the audience so they could read his mind. He was Asian and Hans asked if he could speak english and he said yes, then asked him where he was from and he said Georgia. Then I went *facepalm* They asked him what country he would like to go to on vacation and he said Hawaii. Pamela made this awesome face and was all, "Hawaii is the country you want to go to on vacation?" Happy fun cheesy times.

After the magic show we wandered around the shops there and found a Build A Bear there, which was awesome, we didn't have to go all the way to the Fashion Show mall. I made my Anderson Cooper bear and went to put him in clothes, but they didn't have any of the little bear suits! *SADFACE* So I just put him in little bear boxers, and figured I'd go to the other one later. They put little naked Anderbear in his cardboard bear house and I walked around saying I had naked Anderson Cooper in my box. Hey, it amused me.

Saturday! With Cardassians, The Sisko, and Spamalot:

Saturday started with the Cardassians. I would have liked to have seen Nana Visitor(Kira) and Rene Auberjonois(Odo), but they were there too early and I didn't want to get up. Marc Alaimo(Dukat), Casey Biggs(Damar), and Andrew Robinson(Garak) were there. My mom was VERY excited to see Casey as she is madly in love with him. They talked about the makeup and how hot it is, and how long it takes to put on. Andrew Robinson talked about some of the other things he's worked in, and "A Stitch in Time." Marc talked about how they originally wanted to make Dukat a straight nazi-ish villain, but that he didn't play him that way, and that he REALLY disliked his Dukat as a Bajoran storyline at the end of the show. Andrew loved his storyline at the end because he got to be in a lot of episodes. Casey said they liked the way Damar looked at the bar, so they made him an alcoholic for two years. My mom loved that bit because that's when she really started to like him (I never really forgave Damar after he killed Ziyal)

We wandered around the vendors room for a while, and I found a copy of Spock, Messiah! for a dime (beat that [livejournal.com profile] havocthecat!). Well, it cost a dime, but I just gave them a quarter and left. Now I can read the horribleness myself.

We went back to the big room to see what Brannon Braga (The destroyer of Star Trek) had to say for himself. He dealt with peoples criticism well, but he's got to be used to it by this point. (I was never a big fan of Enterprise (I don't like prequels in general), but for some reason I like most of the characters. Is that normal?) One woman asked him why he killed Trip and he said that Trip was his favorite character and he wanted to kill him. I never had a problem with them killing Trip (that's not entirely true), but someone (me) should have asked why they had to do it in such a dumbass way. Another woman said that she thought the Chakotay/7 of 9 romance came out of nowhere and she thought they had tried to imply a 7 of 9/Janeway relationship. I did *FACEPALM* and Braga made a hilarious o_O face and said she'd been reading too much fanfiction.

My mom left me to save our seats while she got Casey's autograph. I don't remember what I did while she was gone. Probably listened to my ipod or something. She came back all twitterpated and said that Casey was very attractive in person. There weren't many people in line, so they chatted a bit. He asked her where she was from and such. Then it was time for Jonathan Frakes(Riker) and Brent Spiner(Data). They were absolutely hilarious together. They were very good at not answering anyone's questions, but being funny while doing it. Brent talked about how he's going to work on his next album and Jonathan talked about...stuff. I don't remember. I think at one point he brought up Genie's (his wife is Genie Francis. Will Riker is married to Laura Spencer. That always amuses me) store. They sell sheets or something in Maine. (Random but true story. My family's doctor is Richard Jackson, Jonathan Jackson's father. Jonathan played Lucky Spencer, Luke and Laura's son on General Hospital. That's like four degrees to Trek, baby!) Anyway, they were highly enjoyable.

Kate Mulgrew(Janeway) came on after them. She likes Barack Obama, so she wins! There were a bunch of little girls who went up and said she was their role model. It was very sweet. My mom missed most of Kate because she was getting her picture with Casey. He remembered her from earlier, and my mom could hardly contain her glee when she came back. It was very cute, and in the picture she looks so happy that she might pee her pants any second.

After Kate, it was Sisko family time! Avery Brooks(THE SISKO, bitches!), Penny Johnson Jerald (Kasidy Yates), and Cirroc Lofton(Jake). Avery answered most of the questions. I couldn't understand a damn thing the man was talking about, but he's got a pretty fucking awesome voice so I didn't really care. It was Cirroc's 29th birthday, so we all sang to him. Penny said Cirroc couldn't be 29, she was 29. Penny looked fantastic, by the way, and seemed to be very smitten with Mr. Brooks. And who can blame her? The man is over twice my age and I'm smitten with him. He's fucking Hawk, y'all. (And if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out Spencer: For Hire.) After they did their thing, my mom and I wandered around for a while and then got in line for our Avery pic. He was very nice in the 15 seconds we had with him.

After our picture, we back to our hotel and changed into nicer clothes. We walked over to the Fashion Mall so I could get a suit for Anderbear. Unfortunately they didn't have it either. I'm going to have to order it online. I promise to take pictures of how cute he is once it gets here. Then we headed to SPAMALOT! I loved it so so soooooooooo much. John O'Hurley played Arthur and he was excellent. Everyone was. They songs were fun and the dancing was great. Even my mom enjoyed it and she hates Monty Python. It's coming here soon (nowish?) and I want to take my sister to it (if it hasn't been here already).

Sunday! With NASCAR, Kirk and Spock, and Stand-up:
We got up early so my mom could get an autograph from Jeffrey Combs. Unfortunately, he was having some "personal challenges" and was super late. Like an hour. I also don't know what his personal challenges were but I'm assuming some sort of hangover.

After she got her autograph we decided to head to the Sahara for lunch. We ate at the NASCAR Cafe. I had a very good burger. There was a race on, and I recognized a few of the names other than Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. I can only assume this is because of [livejournal.com profile] celli's excellent fic, Fireball. If you haven't read it, go read it now.

We came back for Leonard Nimoy (if you need me to say who this is YOU LOSE) and William Shatner (Ditto). They each came on by themselves and then together. Nimoy talked a little about the movie. He didn't give away any plot points or anything, but he said he was very pleased about Zachary Quinto being cast as Spock. He talked a little about his photography. Then The Shat came out and was funny. He told a story about Rescue 911 I'd heard before. He ranted about how he wanted to be in the movie. Then Nimoy came out and they did their thing together. Nimoy made fun of Bill for all the stuff he's doing and how he really should work more. Bill made fun of Nimoy and told him he wanted to be in the movie. He wants to be in the movie A LOT. Nimoy pointed out that Kirk died in Generations. Bill pointed out that Spock died in Star Trek 2. Nimoy pointed out that he wasn't in Generations, and Bill didn't have anything to say to that. They were very fun together.

After the boys were on, Anthony Montgomery(Travis Mayweather) came on. I liked him a lot. He was funny and nice. He talked about a couple of his projects. He's done a couple of independent movies and did an album. Nicole deBoer(Ezri Dax) came on after him. She just had a baby six months ago, and she looks fantastic. She talked a little about what it was like to replace Terry Farrell. And about the Dead Zone. That's really all I remember about her.

After Nicole, it was time for the Ferengi! Jeffrey Combs(Brunt, Weyoun, Shran, and a few others), Armin Shimerman(Quark), Max Grodenchik(Rom), and Wallace Shawn (Zek) were there. Wallace Shawn was adorable, but my god that man talks slow. It would take him 10 minutes to answer a question. Jeffrey Combs said he wished that Brunt and Weyoun could have met. Just passed each other going down a hall, and then sort of did a double take. That would have been amusing. But expensive. Armin talked a little about What the #$*! Do We (K)now!? Which was filmed in Portland. (WOOT!) I found out that his in-laws live in Portland, so I could hypothetically run into Armin Shimerman on the street.

After the convention, we went to the Forum Shops and hung out until we had to go to Harrah's. We went to the Improv and saw a few comics. Dana Eagle, James Conolly, and Rocky Laporte. We were right in front and were horribly afraid that the comedians would try to talk to us. One of the comics, Dana, did kind of. She was telling a joke about how her mom always asks if she practiced in front of the mirror, and she wanted to know if her mom thought the people in the audience would look like her. Then she pointed at me and said, "but she does." because we both were wearing black framed glasses. She had me turn around so other people could see me. At least I didn't have to say anything. The other two guys were really funny and I enjoyed them a lot.

Monday! With checking out, delays, and Star Trek books:
Monday we got checked out and took a shuttle to the airport. Things went pretty smoothly till we got to our gate. There were people there whose flight to Seattle was supposed to leave at 7 AM and they didn't leave until sometime after 1 PM. Our flight was delayed by an hour, but I wasn't about to complain about that. On the plane my mom sat next to a guy who was reading a Star Trek book, but we didn't talk to him, because that's how we roll.

So that was my trip. If you read that whole thing I'll love you forever. If you didn't, I hate you and you stink. I had a lot of fun, met some awesome people, and bought a lot of stuff. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Until then, you can take a look at lovely Connor in my icon.

That is me! And the other person is Connor Trinneer. He played Trip on Enterprise, and has a recurring role on Stargate Atlantis.

I'm going to post pictures. Probably when I get home. My mom still has to upload some of hers.

Thanks. I love going to Vegas, and it was extra fun this time!

I WANT TO MEET WIL WHEATON. Hmph hmph hmph. I bet he would think I'M AWESOME TOO. Hee.

Also, jealous of the Connor. And Dominic. I would love to see those two together. One of my favorite episodes of Enterprise is the one where they think they're dying because they're running out of oxygen and they get drunk. XD Yes.

Man, I hope I get to go to a big con someday.

Wil Wheaton is fantastic! I told him you'd be jealous because you looooved him, and he told me I win. :) He said to say hi! So, HI from Wil Wheaton.

Dominic and Connor were very funny together. They probably would have been funny even if Dominic hadn't been drunk.

The con was so fun. You should start saving up money so you can go to one. Next years in Vegas is going to be 5 days instead of 4. I don't know if we'll go again, but it's fun to think about.

Hahaha, yay. I do love Wil Wheaton because he is so completely made of win. Yes indeed. I actually have gotten email responses from him a few times. That makes me unnecessarily giddy...>.>

I want to go to one, but the one in Chicago doesn't get very good guests when I check. I really want to go to the Vegas one. :( It's hard to save up, though, since I don't have a job. Oops? I just hope I eventually get to go.

They can be very expensive depending on where it is and how many days it is. When you get a job, you should start saving up. They're a lot of fun.
