bubbles83So I spent the rest of my evening watching episodes of QI, which is an absolutely brilliant show. And I got to hear Stephen Fry stay 'cockring' Now I can cross that of the list of things I wanted to hear before I die.
That LJ interests meme made the rounds again, and I've been saving up interests. Since I have some new people on my flist (Hi! *waves*) I thought it would be a good way for them to get to know me better. If you want me to pick three to seven of your interests let me know. Cutting because the list is pretty long.
ace - Ace is BRILLIANT! She's one of my favorite companions. I'll watch even the most nonsensical of the Seven/Ace serials because Ace and Seven are so excellent together.
anne mccaffrey - She's one of my favorite authors. She writes the Dragonriders of Pern series. I've been reading those books since I was 12 and I'm totally crazy about them

rageprufrock has written some brilliant ones.
crowley - One of the demons from MY FAVORITE BOOK, Good Omens. He may be a demon, but deep down he's a really good guy. In my head he's typically played by Johnny Depp.
david hewlett's heart-shaped ass - He's David Hewlett. Have you seen his ass? I have. And it's lovely.
doctor/tardis - The Doctor's one true love isn't Rose. Or Romana. Or Jamie. Clearly, it's the TARDIS.
gay penguins - There are these gay penguins in New York (I think), and they adopted this rock as an egg. The zookeepers gave them an actual egg to take care of. I think it's just the cutest story in the world.
godless killing machines - BEARS! Number One threat to America. I know because Stephen Colbert told me.
hotbitchuaries - From a Cyanide and Happiness comic that I'm too lazy to look up. About a guy looking in the obituaries for chicks.
michael shanks - Daniel Jackson on SG1. The reason I started watching SG1. WOEFULLY underused on the last episode of Eureka. I enjoy all forms of Michael Shanks. From Floppy Haired Nerdy Early SG1 days to The Ascended Ancients Have Really Good Gym Equipment later seasons.
oppression through mansecks - For the most part, I'm a slasher. I don't think it's a secret that I love John/Rodney. There was a bit of wank a while back about the McShep segment of fandom oppressing the rest of it. I find it amusing. (especially since I love Doctor/Romana. I'm an oppressing fiend) Really, I think you should just write/read whatever makes you happy. If that happens to be John/Hermiod, then more power to you. I probably won't read it, but I'm not going to slap down my oppressor card and tell you not to.
penguins - I'd like to state, for the record, that I liked penguins before it was the "cool" thing to do. They were always my favorite animals to see at the zoo. They waddle and have on little tuxes. And they have wings, but can't fly, which I always thought was very unfair.
powells - GIANT used bookstore in Portland. It takes up a whole downtown block and is three (four?) stories. I love it. I wish I could move in there. It's my happy place.
pretty people in space - If I was going to go by what my television shows told me, I'd have to assume that all the attractive people in the world said, "Fuck these ugly people. I'm getting the hell out of here," and headed out in their space ships to outer space. Seriously, there aren't many uggos out there.
puddlejumper sex - John and Rodney have sex in puddle jumpers. This is canon. I saw Irresistible. "Harvesting Gates" is really just slang for bangin' in the jumpers. The whale watching date in Echoes would have ended in sex, but they started bleeding out their ears, and that just ruins the mood.
smut - Smut? Why do I like smut? It's smut. What's not to like? It's like asking someone why they like candy. It's fucking candy, that's why.
something corporate - SoCo! I love them. They are this band out of California, and they're awesome. I don't know if they're still together because I haven't heard anything new from them in ages, but I haven't really been looking. My friend in college got me interested in them by having me listen to "I Kissed A Drunk Girl" and that still one of my favorite songs of theirs. I'm also fond of "Punk Rock Princess" and "I woke Up In A Car"
space cases - Totally awesome show that used to be on Nick. To this day the first thing I think of when I see Jewel Staite isn't Firefly or SGA, it's Space Cases. She played a girl with colorful hair named Catalina. The first Black Ranger was on it too. I don't really remember much about the show, except a bunch of kids end up lost in space on board a space ship. You can see a season one cast shot here. Jewel is in the middle.
the sisko - Benjamin Sisko is my FAVORITE Star Trek captain.
thigh holsters - Thigh holsters are fucking HOTT! Yes, that's right. TWO Ts! I have pictures on my hard drive saved purely for the fact that a thigh holster is in the shot.
