Wishlists!

* Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

* If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not—it's your call.

* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Icons: I love icons. A lot. Any of my fandoms (just look at my interests), and a person can always use more stock icons. They don't have to be personalized, but if they were, that would be awesome.

2. A new layout. I'm rubbish at layouts. That's why mine is just a simple header with some color changes. I would probably break the whole series of tubes if I tried to do anything more complicated. It doesn't have to be McKay/Sheppard related either (Athough I wouldn't cry if it was), but I like teamy SGA stuff or Teyla-centric. Anything DW would be awesome (Ten, Seven, Ace, Martha, Romana, Liz, Two, Jamie, Zoe, Babs, Leela, Brig... Any one or any combo of those would be OMG SO AMAZING I MIGHT CRY), Pushing Daisies and Chuck are my new show loves. But really, anything would be awesome.

3. If layouts aren't your thing either, I'd love just a new header.

4. Desktop wallpapers. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, new graphics are shiny. My screen resolution is 1280x800.

5. Fic. Gen, slash, Het. I like it all. Although I am more of a slasher, but I love good plotty gen. Again, most of my fandoms and pairings are in my interests. If you want to write me something but don't know how I'd feel about it, drop me an email or comment on a post. I always have anon comments on if you don't want me to know who you are.

6. Paid LJ time/User pics. Or even a virtual gift. For me or someone else on your flist who you don't think gets enough props for being so awesome.

7. I love music, so any mixes you want to make would be fantastic. Fannish or otherwise.

8. Donate time or money to your favorite charity.

9. Any old books or cool stuff you have sitting around your house that you think I would like. It's like giving me a little piece of you! If you need my address you can always email me or leave a comment.

10. If you would like to get something off of Amazon, my list is here.

I have a bunch of yours favorited, but I'd appreciate it if you could link me to them. I want to make sure I have them all. :)

(Merry Early Holiday Season for you)

The National Anthem was playing somewhere in his pocket, and the left side of his lips slid upwards. Putting down the large white sign that declared “PENCILS DOWN!”, Jon slipped his hand into his pocket and answered with out checking the caller ID.

“That is the last time I let myself go drinking with you, do you even know how much these stupid ringers cost?”

He just barely heard Stephen’s familiar chuckle and stepped off the line to plug his other ear with his gloved finger. “I am sure you can afford it, but if not I will be willing to pony up the buck ninety nine so that my patriotism could be declared to the world.”

“I think that isn’t even a question anymore,” Jon rolled his eyes. “Where are you? The bid for the presidency makes you too important to march with us lowly common people?”

“No, my stunning good looks and charm make me too important to march with you common people,” Stephen quipped, but added, “I am almost there.”

A few of the people around Jon had started chanting something that he wasn’t paying enough attention to catch. “You better get here quick, you are about to miss Margaritaville.”

“Wouldn’t want to miss that,” John could picture Stephen rolling his eyes. “Turn around.”

He obeyed, and was met with a large Starbucks cup in his face. He took the cup gratefully and smiled. “You are a gentleman and a scholar.”

“You lied,” Stephen sipped at the coffee in his hands and looked around. “This isn’t Margarittaville, and I am disappointed in you.”

“We can start it, if you want, I am sure the Conan interns would join in.”

Stephen sniffed indignantly, “Those hippies? Never mind.”

Jon stood sipping at his coffee for a few long moments, appreciating the jolt of caffeine and warmth it was providing. He thought of a few quips about global warming or the lack of it but didn’t bother trying. Stephen looked to be thinking about the same thing, and it was too early in the morning to bother talking when their minds were in the same place.

“You know, if this doesn’t end soon I think I am going to have to hope for even better medical benefits,” Jon tried eventually.

Stephen nodded, swigged a little more coffee and added. “Plus this is definitely cutting in to my campaign schedule.”

“It would be a tragedy if you lost the election over 4 cents a DVD,” Jon conceded.

“But what would you lead into if I did win?”

Jon shook his head, cause even with the fact that it was a joke he didn’t like the concept of Stephen not being around to hang out with, “The prank calling puppets worked for a while.”

“That isn’t what my show is?”

Jon chuckled just loud enough for the interns who were near by to turn and stare at him. He picked up his sign and waved it half assed in the air. Stephen looked amused, but turned off the smile when he caught others watching.

“Come on, better show these pint sized picket-ers how us old timers do it.”

Jon didn’t bother acting offended at the slight on his age, and instead put the coffee down and lifted the sign over his head. Stephen grabbed a sign from a group nearby and joined in just in time to catch Jon start to half chant and half sing:

“Salt- Salt- Where the FUCKS the Salt?!”

Your welcome. :D

Margaritaville is now in my head, which is nice. I <3 this song.

Thank you. :) And the fact that you called it Christmakkuh is even more awesome.

Okay, this is going to come out random and awkward because that's my specialty. Also, it's the middle of the night.

Anyhow, I was poking around my friendslist and liked an icon on a comment you made, so I surfed on over to your journal to check it out. You like cool stuff and we have some mutual friends and you're a PacNW fanperson. And you knew Amelia, which blew my mind in a RL meets Fannish Life sort of way. So, I'm going to friend you, if you don't mind.

I usually don't ask, because I feel asking puts a pressure on the other person to friend back (which, no pressure), but the whole Amelia thing threw me for a loop and it's the middle of the night. So hi. Yes.

You knew Amelia? It's funny that the fannish world can be so big and so small at the same time. Since you're from P-town (I'm up in Vancouver), did you know Amelia IRL or through fannish things? I was her RA at UO, that's how I met her.

And we have fandoms and friends and QI in common so I'm totally friending you back!

I did! I met her in like 5th grade (and *laughs* didn't like her at all at the time, but we were friends from high school on) and lived with her in Eugene for two years. It is such a small, small world.

Oh Alan Davies, I love you like burning. Woo!

I don't think we've ever actually met, but I can't help but think that anyone else who loves Doctor Who and action figures can't be half bad. ;-)

My list is here (http://azarsuerte.livejournal.com/375919.html) if you want to take a look at it, but being a complete (I think) stranger, I won't feel at all offended if you don't. :-)

I don't think we've met, but I'm pretty sure I recognize your user name from comments in friends entries, so you aren't a total stranger.

I looked over at your Amazon list and you have Dragonriders of Pern on there. I love those books! I'm always willing to look over other people's wishlists, that's half the fun of the meme!
