What the hell? I get that the Master was a big deal. And I like John Simm as much as the next fangirl, but not putting Martha on the cover is bullshit. She has to be the worst treated character in all of Who. Too bad she's fucking awesome and doesn't need to be on your stupid cover. *shakes head* This is so messed up.

I get putting the Master on the cover. It was a big deal, and getting John Simm was fantastic, but Martha should be on there as well. She was in the whole bloody season. Martha saved the freaking world. The Master was only in three episodes, and he wasn't even the Master for most of one of those.

It's umm, possible that I might, maybe, have overreacted a little, and that they're releasing TWO covers. One a limited edition with the Master, and another one (with, I would assume, Martha.)

But it's nice to know that there are other people willing to get pissed off on behalf of Martha.

That's still pretty messed up. She wasn't some minor character you throw on the back. She was THE companion for the season. To not put her on the front cover is a slap in the face to Martha fans, and especially to Freema.

So, question. I downloaded S1 of Doctor Who, and I thought I liked it, at first, but eventually some elements of the plot combined with the production values just kind of annoyed me (i.e. the aliens that tried to take over 10 Downing Street). I'm still totally open... but does it get better after Season One?

Well, yes and no. It depends on how you feel about the Ninth Doctor, and what you think of Rose. I love Nine a lot, and I like Ten a lot as well, but Rose and Ten get really clingy with each other and pretty annoying (IMO), so a lot of your enjoyment of S2 depends on how you feel about thier relationship. I managed to enjoy the season, despite not liking Ten/Rose and finding some of the plots utter shit.

Season three depends on how you feel about Rose, and if you're willing to give another companion a shot. I know some people couldn't really let go of Rose, and they let the fact that she wasn't there dampen their enjoyment of the season. Personally, I love Martha, and thought she did really well, even in some of the worse episode of the season.

If you're interested in just watching a few eps of each season to see what you think I can give you some recs.

I might have overreacted a little. I've heard that they might actually be doing two covers, or having a reversible cover, with Martha and the Doctor on the other side.

It's just that Martha gets so much hate, I feel the need to jump to her defense when I can.

there's a discussion that just started on the doctorwho community about it, and that is indeed the speculation that there are two separate covers, and that martha is on the back of the one with simm.

it's still a little annoying overall, though.
