Went shopping today. I ended up getting Caity a boxset that has A Little Princess, The Secret Garden, and Anne of Green Gables in it. It even comes with a little locket. I don't know if she'll have any interest in them, but they're books I enjoyed, so she damn well better think they're fantastic! And I got her The Secret School by Avi. Sitting right next to that book was The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, which was one of my favorite books, but my mom made me get rid of it when we moved to Vancouver, so I picked that up for myself, and maybe if she's nice to me, I'll let Caity read it. I also picked up a couple of Doctor Who books. Wetworld, which I heard was good. And Independence Day, a Seven and Ace novel. For all I know it could be total shit, but it's Seven and Ace, so I bought it.

Banana totally wins. Shawn may be good at talking his way out of shit, but the Doctor will beat him at it every time...

Also, I am not excited for SGA since I don't watch it, but PSYCH!! Way more excited for Psych than Torchwood. Psych is just a happy good time. Torchwood just means I'll probably hate it and might brave the Torchwood comms again.

You mean people saw through my Totally Subtle fruit analogy? Is analogy even the word I want? I'm suddenly unsure. It's the word that popped into my head, but it doesn't sound right. Actually, they were just the first two fruits I thought of, and then realized a second later that they were totally Doctor Who vs Psych fruits.

I'm totally excited for ALL THREE SHOWS! I'm rather surprised by the amount of Torchwood squee I have. I think it has to do with Martha.

I'm excited for Martha, but she's not in it right away. I'm vaguely excited for Jack, but that's about it. Of course, if the first episode is good, I will probably rapidly change my mind. But so much of S1 was crap.

Analogy seems like the right word to me.

I picked pineapples, but I don't ever see pineapples and bananas on opposing sides. D: The Doctor and Shawn would get along so well.

Bananas and pineapples should be on the same side. In a fight against the blender and my belly as I now want a smoothie.

OMFG, LOL!

Pineapple is heavy and has pointy bits! Smash banana!

(Am I, unawares, indicating some kind of anti-Doctor fandom preference with that answer?)

That's sort of how I feel it will come out in the great Pineapple vs Banana DEATH MATCH.

It's not anti-Doctor if you're going for a strictly fruitist answer. If, however, you choose to let pineapple=Psych and banana=Doctor Who then, yes, you are. To be honest, I just thought a fruit death match would be silly and those were the two fruits that came into my head. Whether it's a coincidence that the fruits I chose could be construed as show related or a sign that fandom has completely taken over my subconscience remains to be seen.

Oh, snap! I lose at life for not getting DW banana reference. Sad days. Still--it's a tough call between that and Shawn's pineapple. His love for pineapple shines through each episode, whereas we don't see nearly enough banana!Doctor!love.

And WTF. I went to the cinemas yesterday, saw Juno (which rocked, btw) and they played a Torchwood commercial before. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhht.

Well, the banana/DW ref wasn't totally on purpose, so it's okay that you missed it.

I want to see Juno! I'll have to see if I can get someone here to see it with me. I love that they play Torchwood commercials at the cinema. I would like to see John Barrowman HUGE on the big screen.
