Debating the finer points of marshmallow roasting with my dad. I say you stick it in the flames and let it catch on fire. Nice and charred on the outside and nice and melty on the inside. My dad prefers to slowly twist it just outside of the flames so it gets a nice golden brown (which is not as good as my way). How do you all roast marshmallows?

Slowly.

I can't stand the taste of just pure carbon (which is pretty much what the charredness is) on anything. I don't even like it on chicken. I usually dig in the middle of grilled chicken, ha.

So I certainly don't want it in my dessert!

Heh. It's funny you mention grilled chicken. That's what we had for dinner. I don't mind the charredness of it either.

Toasted, definitely, although I'll still eat it if it accidentally catches fire.

And now I want s'mores. Thanks ever so much.

For me, watching it flame is half the fun.

Mmm. I like my marshmallows to burn on the outside, same as you.

I like 'em your way. They're supposed to catch fire!

I like watching them burn. The flames are what makes it fun!

I like them on fire and then you peel off the burnt part and eat that and then do it all over again until it's too little to work.

But if I'm having s'mores? Then the golden brown slow roasted way.

I've never done the peeling thing. I'll have to do that next time!
