Okay. Here it is. The moment you've all been waiting for. My Vegas write up! This is gonna be long, so let's get to it!

Thursday! With Geordi, Wil, and BINGO! )

Friday! With Anderbear, Pamela Anderson, and drunken Dominic! )

Saturday! With Cardassians, The Sisko, and Spamalot! )

Sunday! With NASCAR, Kirk and Spock, and Stand-up! )

Monday! With checking out, delays, and Star Trek books! )

So that was my trip. If you read that whole thing I'll love you forever. If you didn't, I hate you and you stink. I had a lot of fun, met some awesome people, and bought a lot of stuff. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Until then, you can take a look at lovely Connor in my icon.
bubbles83: (On the road again)
*big hugs* I missed you guys! I had an excellent time in Vegas. Saw some shows, met some ST people, spent a lot of money. I'll do a bigger post on it later, but now I'm going to have a sandwich and collapse. :)
bubbles83: (On the road again)
Well, I'm headed out. I won't be back till Monday afternoon, so everybody be good while I'm gone. No abandoning LJ without me. ;)

If you want to know what I'm up to, I'll probably be twittering my little heart out. So if you want to know how awesome it is to meet Wil Wheaton, just head over there.

See y'all later!
bubbles83: (On the road again)
I finally learned how to add agents to the company's website and set up their email addresses. And I'm learning how to make business cards and I get to start doing the Newsletter. It's about time. I've only been there a year. Now maybe I'll have things to do and I won't be bored quite so often. Good times.

Does anyone want to pack for me? I love going on trips, but I hate packing.

And here's one last chance to get yourself a postcard from Vegas.
bubbles83: (On the road again)
This one is even better because EVERYONE can have one.

I'm leaving for Vegas on Thursday morning, if you want a postcard from me leave me your name and address in the comments. Don't worry, they're screened.

When I renew my Entertainment Weekly I get one free gift subscription. The first person to correctly guess where this quote came from and who said it wins the subscription. (Sadly, it's for people in the US only as the form doesn't give me options for other countries)

"It's an ancient sacred text, not a Magic Eight Ball."

ETA: Someone already won. That was fast!
bubbles83: (Alias - Sark)
I went shopping today to try and find some tank tops for Vegas. I hate shopping for clothes. It always leaves me horribly depressed. They never have anything cute in my size and I'm oddly shaped so nothing fits me right. *sigh* Who wants to come live with me and make my clothes. I will pay you with love and affection. Or badly written fanfiction and mediocre icons. Or candy. Candy for clothes. Does that sound like a good deal to anyone?

Hee. I was watching Keith today and MSNBC had this commercial about how they did better in the ratings than CNN, and they said something about MSNBC topping CNN. Now I want MSNBC/CNN slash. Or fic where MSNBC and CNN get together to bitch about Fox, while Headline News and CNBC whine about how they don't get any love. Or maybe I should just be quit before you all decide I'm too crazy, and defriend me.

Someone posted this awesome video to [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho, and I thought it was fantastic.

Will you stop that. You cannot sing at Daleks )

Good news for season 2 of Heroes.

If anyone still wants some love from me and hasn't gotten it, go here.

Smoochies!

I stole this from [livejournal.com profile] havocthecat. Everyone could use a little love in their lives.

Leave your name here and I will tell you why it's awesome to know you.
bubbles83: (HP - We're gonna be a big gay family)
Does anyone want to come to Vancouver and play Harry Potter Scene It with me? No one in my family will play it with me. Also, someone lost the DVD to my TV Scene It. Grrr.

[livejournal.com profile] fannish5: What five character deaths affected you the most?

Cut for spoilers for Harry Potter, Firefly, Buffy, Deep Space Nine, and Alias )
bubbles83: (News - Anderson is looking at you!)
Last year, my mom and I decided that we were going to go to Build-A-Bear every year when we were in Vegas. I made a Lex bear and a Superman bear. I'm trying to decide what kind of bear I want to make this year. Help me decide.

This Friday Poll is srs bzns! )

In other news, I forgot to tape Anderson on The View this morning. Did anyone catch it? Was he adorable? Did he discuss premature ejaculation?
bubbles83: (To read makes our speaking English good)
I have a sickness. I am physically incapable of going into a bookstore and not buying anything. I went to Barnes and Noble with my mom and sisters because Caity was doing this book thing where if she read 8 books she got 1 for free. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but the books were just there. And then they were in my hand and then I was buying them. I'm not sure how it happened. Anyway, I managed to pick up Twilight by Stephanie Meyer (now my flist can leave me alone ;)), a Doctor Who book The Last Dodo by Jaqueline Rayner (Martha!), The first volume of The Sandman (I'm not sure why I don't own these already. I remember borrowing the first couple from a friend, but then I moved and never finished the series), and The Areas of my Expertise by one Mr. John Hodgman (I was quite pleased that the first page I turned to had a Doctor Who picture on it). I feel kind of guilty. I really shouldn't be spending my money on books, but they're all shiny and new and smell so booky. I couldn't resist.

Please to be noting that it is kind of embarrassing if you are looking at Doctor Who books and your phone goes off when your phone makes TARDIS noises.

My sister just came in my room and found me listening to her Panic! At the Disco CD. Then I had to admit I also stole her Fall Out Boy CD. *shakes fist* Damn you bandslash! I feel shame. But not that much.

Aww. Neil Patrick Harris is on Jeopardy right now... He WON! YAY NEIL!
bubbles83: (I heart nerds)
So I have both the Hewletts and Wil Wheaton friended on Twitter. Any other people I could friend to make me geekier?

One week until I leave for Vegas! Yay!
bubbles83: (I heart nerds)
I like to imagine this is how things go in the Eureka writer's room

Writer 1: So I was watching this episode of The Next Generation the other day, and I had a GREAT idea.
Writer 2: Didn't we just steal the plot to an Atlantis episode a couple of weeks ago?
Writer 3: No. We didn't steal anything. We borrowed a plot point.
Writer 2: Actually, we "borrowed" two plot points.
Writer 1: WHAT THE FUCK EVER, DUDES. Just listen to my idea. Beverly Crusher gets stuck in this bubble thingy and then people start disappearing. Eventually it's just her, all alone on the Enterprise. We should make that into an episode.
Writer 3: We don't have a spaceship.
Writer 1: *glares* First of all, it's a STARship. Not a spaceship. Secondly, we have a whole goddamned town. GOD! What the hell is wrong with you people?
Writer 2: Do we have any Cheetos?
Writer 3: Yeah. Cheetos sound amazing right now.
Writer 1: ARE YOU BOTH HIGH?
Writers 2 and 3: *look shifty*
Writer 1: Of course you're high.
Writer 2: Want some?
Writer 1: Might as well. Won't get the show written without it.

A few nonspoilery thoughts:

- Zoe is like Eureka's delinquent Rory Gilmore. Heh. I think that makes Jack their Lorelai. And Stark is their Luke without the diner. Which proves the Jack/Nathan is OTP (OMG, please don't be telling me Vincent is their Luke. I will cry)
- Stark's smile at the end was adorable. When he's done sexing Jack, he can come find me.
- I love snarky SARAH.
bubbles83: (DC - Batman thinks you're awesome)
God, I love Celebrity Jeopardy. It always makes me feel so smart.

OMG! CURT SCHILLING! NANCY DREW!?!? SERIOUSLY? Oh, Jane. I can't believe you put that too. Maybe I'm just the queen of useless trivia, because I knew the answer.

HEE!

ZOMG! Blingee is SO addictive )

I predict crazy fannish spam in the future.
bubbles83: (SGA - Teyla and Ronon fighting)
And I found some icons from the Infinite Quest cartoon that I never uploaded. Also, some SGA/DW crossoverish icons. If I uploaded them would anyone be interested?
bubbles83: (Sports - Baseball)
I like watching baseball on television, and I love going out to my backyard on a nice day and listening to a game on the radio, but nothing beats actually going to the game. There's something magical about it. The smell, the crowd, the energy. It's fantastic.

The drive up was worrisome because of the clouds and rain, but it was pretty nice when we got up to Seattle. Cloudy, but reasonably warm. My dad didn't harass me about my life, other than asking me when I'm going to get my friggin drivers license. But that's to be expected. I should move to New York or someplace where it's not such a big deal that I don't have it.

The game itself was fun. The Mariners beat the A's 14 to 10. We had great seats. Pretty much right behind the plate and eleven rows back. I was basically sitting on the field. At one point my dad could have caught a foul ball, but he let one of the kids sitting right in front of us get it. They were pretty cute in their little baseball hats and their mitts. It's the Mariners 30th anniversary and today was Turn Back the Clock day, so both the teams were in 70's style uniforms and they played a bunch of 70's music. Lots of ABBA. And they played Boogie Shoes, which always makes me think of Sports Night.

The drive back was nice. We made it back in a little over 2 hours. Now we're having meatloaf for dinner. It really doesn't get any better than that.
bubbles83: (DW - Martha with arrows)
Except it's like a two and half hour drive. Just me and my dad. And I know he's going to pepper me with questions about what I want to do with my life, do I really want to be a receptionist forever, how much money do I have in my bank account, do I want to go back to school ever, and it's going to drive me batty. I love my dad and he's just looking out for me, but God, those questions are so annoying. Maybe he won't. Perhaps we'll just have a nice pleasant drive.

Since everyone else is doing the "First Impressions" meme, I thought I would too.

Now I'm going to slog through 15 pages to try and find you guys. Warning, I don't remember how I first met most of you, let alone what I thought of you, so I might just make something fun up. I do it out of love.
